Jeep CJ With A Chevy 350 Q. Hi Vince, I have a new 350 small block Chevy with Edelbrock manifold, Edelbrock 4 bbl carburetor, headers, in a Jeep CJ which has sat unused for two years. All components top to bottom are new. Just put this vehicle back to use but it now has an intermittent miss and occasional exhaust backfire once warm but idles well.

Might this be a case of a gummed up carburetor, filter, or ??

350 cid
Breaker type distributor
Hi output coil and wires
Edelbrock Performer carburetor and manifold
Headers

A. I would think a carburetor problem or filter would affect all cylinders and not just a particular one. I would look closely at the plugs for cracks, melted wires from headers? Over adjusted valve(s).
