Ford Aerostar Windshield Wipers
Q. I have a problem with my 1993 Ford Aerostar XL 6 cylinder 3.0, 2WD, 93,000 miles. The windshield wipers were on the they lost alignment. The wiper would wipe passed my windshield and about a few weeks later, while wiper was on I heard clanking noises and the wipers stopped working.
How do I access the troubled area to fix? Also do you think I need a new motor or some other part? Also my A/C hose has a leak in it, what part number would I look for?
Thank you for your time.
A. You will need to remove the cowl grille to gain access to the wiper motor. There is a row of screws in front of it and, I think, two on each side. Once it is off, you can inspect the linkage and see what is wrong. It might be a ball joint went bad, a broken pivot or a broken motor. Only looking will tell.
