Camaro Valve Cover
Q. Vincent, Hope you can help. I have a 1997 Camaro with the V-6 3800 engine, all stock. I am trying to replace the valve cover gaskets but am stumped as to how to remove the right side (passenger). I have all the maintenance manuals but need help as to how to remove the rear engine lift bracket and the nut that holds the transmission fill tube on.
Specifically, there is very little room to get to the nuts, in fact you can't see them and can barely feel them. What tool(s) and methods would you recommend? I even tried from underneath the car but that wasn't successful either. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
JohnA. Sometimes you need to think outside the box. You probably can pry or bend the bracket with a large pry bar or screwdriver for clearance. As for the dipstick, a large round bar inserted into it so you don't deform it will reposition it as well.
