Toyota Radio Antennae

Q. I have a 1995 Toyota Corolla. The radio antennae, which I can pull up and down from the driver side window, has broken. I called Toyota parts and the part is $45.00 but to repair it the cost for parts and labor is $200.00. I don't need the cable that runs from the radio to the antennae. I only need to replace the metal antennae.

Can I do this or do I need to replace the whole unit, radio cable and antennae?

Roxanne

A. Paying $200.00 including parts and labor to replace it is not excessive. It sounds like you're paying for about 2 hours labor. That's a manual antenna located in the left windshield pillar and the antenna wire, unfortunately, is part of the antenna.
