Intrigue Spark Plugs

Q. Can you tell me how to replace the spark plugs on my 1998 Olds Intrigue with a 3800 V-6? Do I need any special tools or procedures?

Thanks!!!

A. You need to very carefully remove the plug wires from the plugs. They must be twisted side to side to get them to unstick themselves from the porcelain of the plugs. Once they twist easy, you can pull them straight off the plug. If you are unsure of the firing order just do one plug at a time. Start with the front three plugs and then go to the rear bank. You will need a ratchet, a long extension, A 5/8" sparkplug socket and a gap gauge. Be very careful as the holes where they thread into are aluminum, very easy to strip out threads. Do this job an a cool engine.
