Brake Fluids
Q. Hi Vincent, Currently I am doing a degree course in mechanical engineering and as part of that course we have to look into accident reconstruction, especially with regards to brakes and tyres. I am after some information as listed below:

- Characteristics/properties of brake fluid
- Chemical make up of brake fluid
- Effect of contamination
- Comparison of vapour lock compared to boiling point.
If you can give any info on the above mentioned topics I would be eternally grateful.

A. I can give you links to some sites that can answer these questions for you. I'm just a plain mechanic and not an engineer so I don't have specific numbers for you. But you can get what you need from these sites and you can find more by doing a search for "brake fluid" on Google.
