Voyager Lock Cylinder

Q. Hi Vincent, I have successfully removed the key cylinder from the ignition switch in my 1992 Plymouth Voyager. I tried to get a used part from the boneyard and all they will sell me is a steering column !!! If I purchase a new cylinder ( the tab on the end of mine is cracked and a piece missing) will I get a new key? How much should I expect to pay at a dealer.

Thanks,
Russ

A. Not only will you get a new key with the new lock cylinder, you'll get two new keys. You have the option of taking the new lock to a locksmith with the old key and he can rekey the new lock to use the old key. Thus eliminating one key for the ignition and another key for all the other locks.

A new lock cylinder from Chrysler will run about $52.00.
