Grand Prix Coils
Q. I have a Pontiac Grand Prix 1989. 2.8 liter engine, and a 1992 Grand Prix 3.1 liter engine. Can I interchange the coil pack and ignition module? Since the 2.8 is about to be sent to the wreckers and I need a coil pack for my 3.1? They look the same but are they the same?
By the way I like your answers on past questions, it's helped me a lot.

VernA. According to the GM part numbers, the coils and ignition modules for the 1989 2.8, 3.1 and 1992 3.1 and 3.4 are all the same. So there is no problem with swapping them over.
