Beretta Hums

Q. I was wondering what might be wrong with my car. I have an 1988 Chevy Beretta with a fuel injected 2.8 liter V-6 engine and automatic transmission. It has about 118,000 miles, P/S, A/C but doesn't work, and no ABS. I'm hearing a loud humming noise especially after going over 25-30 m.p.h.

It gets really loud at highway speeds. The weird thing about it is it doesn't make the noise when I'm turning right. I was wondering if you could help me out on knowing what this might be. Let me know if it's not enough information.

Thanks

A. It sounds to me like you have a bad front wheel bearing. Specifically a bad right front wheel bearing. The clue is that the noise goes away when you make a right turn. When you turn right, the load shifts to the left side of the car easing the load on the right side.
