Camry T/S Bulb Replacement

Q. Vincent, I need to replace to the turn signal bulb in the front left side of my 1997 Toyota Camry. I bought a maintenance manual which tells me to remove the pin that secures the turn signal casing. Pull the casing out. And remove the bulb at the back of the casing. I removed the pin but the problem is I cannot pull the casing out.

There seems to be another locking mechanism behind casing. Will pulling the casing by force will release the lock. I'm afraid I might break the casing if I do that. And end up spending more money.

Thank you,
Rob

A. I haven't had occasion to replace a turn signal bulb on that particular car yet, but in general there is a screw that holds the lamp assembly in place behind the assembly. You would need to remove this screw to be able to slide it out to replace the bulb. In the other type of assembly they use one screw, or pin, to lock the assembly and there is a rod with a bulb type end that pops into a catch. If you do not have the screw type, then you will need to use a small amount of force to pop the assembly out.
