Caravan Courtesy Lights

Q. Dear Vincent: I recently bought a 1997 Dodge Caravan (std), 63,000 miles, 2.4 liter, 3 speed automatic. My problem is the interior dome lights and tailgate lights do not work. I checked the bulbs and interior light fuse in the engine fuse box, they're ok. The interior front reading lights work fine.

All the other warning, dash, and exterior lights also work fine. I checked the Haynes wiring diagrams and it shows a courtesy lamp relay, but I can't locate it. I also checked the wires behind the dome lights and they seem intact. I haven't yet checked for voltage in the sockets. What do you think the problem might be?

Thanks,
Jim

A. The Courtesy Lamp Relay is located in the lower right of the main Junction Block. I think the problem is a bad relay or the wiring.
