Setting GM Points

Q. I have a 1970 Camaro and don't know how to set the points or the correct procedure so can you please tell me?

A. Setting the points on that is pretty easy. You'll need a special GM point setting tool and a dwell meter. Install the points and put the rotor and cap on. Hook up your dwell meter and start the car. Insert the point tool into the points through the little door in the cap and turn the points until you get a dwell reading of 30°. Then that's it, you have the points set up correctly.
