Subaru Remote Door Locks

Q. I have a 1996 Subaru Outback with a remote door lock entry system. It will not open my door locks. I replaced the batteries in the transmitter units. I hear a clicking sound in the receiver module but it will not open the doors. If I use my key all door locks will open.

Do I need to replace the receiver module?

Thanks,
Richard

A. If you can hear the receiver clicking, the signal from the transmitter is getting to the receiver. My best guess is the problem is with the receiver, either it is not actuating the door locks or there is a problem in the wiring. I'm sorry I can't be more specific but my manuals have next to nothing on information about this system.
