Chevy S-10 Blazer 4WD Problems
Q. Hello, I have a 1992 Chevy S-10 Blazer. Lately when I have been pressing the 4 wheel drive HIGH button to take the vehicle out of 4 wheel drive, it doesn't immediately disengage. I hear clicking in the radio area of my dash board like it wants to do something, but it has been taking quite a few attempts before the 4 wheel drive disengages. Any thoughts?
Thanks for you help.

A. The clicking is from the transfer case control module. This talks to the encoder motor that is bolted on the transfer case. You could have a bad switch, encoder motor, or TCCM. You can have it checked for diagnostic trouble codes that are read through the switch by jumping a couple of wires on the ALDL connector. Then follow trouble code charts to get to root of problem.
Read Diagnostic Trouble Codes to see how to pull the codes and see what they mean.
