Q. Hi Vincent, Love the ABOUT site. Hope you can help me. I have a P0404 OBD-II code on my vehicle. I believe its the EGR valve Can you confirm this as needing replacing? What your thoughts?

Would like to do this myself, I do have some automotive skills on classic muscle cars but these new emission cars I stay away from. I know you answered this on a Ford Focus but he had lower mileage and he could go back to the dealer.

A. While it could just need cleaning, with this many miles on it, I would just replace it. This code is for an error in the pintle valve position for the EGR valve.
