Lexus ES300 Bulb Replacement

Q. The turn signal bulb has burned out on the left front of my '97 Lexus ES300 sedan. I have opened the hood but I don't see any access to the bulb area. In the Ford Taurus one must remove remove the headlamp assembly to access the turn signal bulb area. This is not the case with the Lexus. In the Lexus there seems to be a lens assembly on the side away from the headlamp which might be accessed if I could figure out how to loosen that assembly. No screws are visible. I realize this is a minor problem but I can imagine the cost if I go to the dealer. Besides I am finding it fun. This is the first problem I have had with the Lexus in 30,000 miles.Thank you for your advice or opinion.

A. There were a couple of different ways these lenses were attached. One had a thin piece of sheet metal running back with a large plastic "screw" holding it in. Another type had a similar bar running sideways and attached to the top of the headlamp housing with a small sheet metal screw. Removing ti holding screw will loosen the assembly and pulling it forward would free it from the body allowing bulb replacement.
