A Used Mitsubishi
Q. I bought a Mitsubishi Gallant used car 1985, 2000cc, automatic transmission, GLS, Gulf style. Since August 1997 I changed almost all it's parts. Auto transmission 3 times, battery 3 times, water hoses many times, engine head 1 time, engine starter 4 times. I had an auto mechanic course in order to save labour wages, but I failed because I don't have the repair - owner - manual and parts catalog. I need these manuals badly. Can you guide me how and where can I get them? By the way I am a mechanical draftsman.
Thank you very much,
AdelA. Let me see if I understand this, in the space of three years you put three transmissions three batteries, four starters and a cylinder head in a 12 year old car? I'm going to be brutally honest with you Adel, get rid of the car and cut your losses. This car is going to be a drain on your wallet for as long as you own it. If you live in New York City I would say park it on the side of the Belt Parkway and walk away from it.
The dealer can get you the original owners manual. As far as a service manual for that car, there are several places you can get one. You can try the local parts stores, they can order one for you or you can order one online at Auto Repair Manuals.Com A specific parts catalog for that car would be more difficult to find. Parts catalogs are usually part specific, like Ignition parts or brake parts and they cover all makes and models. Car Parts.com is a good place to get a listing of parts and prices for your specific car.
