Buick Century Blowing White Smoke

Buick Century Blowing White Smoke

Last year I repaired a Buick with the same engine and it was the lower intake manifold gasket that had failed and the coolant was mixing with the oil. The present Buick that I have to repair produces white smoke and keeps going low on coolant indicating internal coolant loss but I see no coolant in the oil.

Is the problem again the intake manifold gasket or one of the head gaskets? Can head gaskets fail without the head it self being warped? The automobile is in impeccable condition and has been well maintained with only 62,300 miles. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and best regards,
John

A. White smoke tells me it's a head gasket or crack somewhere. You can pressure test it with the plugs removed to see if any coolant comes out of any hole. You would also be replacing the intake gasket anyway which may be the root cause of the overheat that made it smoke.
