Buick Skylark Idles Very Low
Q. I found your web site just cruising the internet trying to get more information on my vehicle and I thank you in advance for any help you can give me. I own a 1997 Buick Skylark which I purchased used about two years ago. At the time of purchase the vehicle had only 26,000 kilometers (16,155 miles). I had purchased it through an estate liquidation and was advised that it had been sitting for some time.
After driving the vehicle for approximately one month I had to replace the alternator and battery. The vehicle now has 40,000 kilometers (24,854 miles). The problem I presently have is that while idling the vehicle feels like it is going to stall but does not (yet). I am hoping to avert any imminent problem. The most recent repairs done on the vehicle are as follows:
- Serpentine belt replaced: June 2005 (engine mount replaced at same time)
- Alternator (bearings faulty) replaced: October 2005
- Oil and filter change: October 2005
Is there any adjustment that can be or should have been done?
Thank you...
A. I would suggest checking the fuel pressure regulator for dripping, cleaning the injectors with the GM approved method and see how it runs then.
