Toyota Won't OD
Q. 1994 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 V6, automatic transmission, 107,000 miles, fuel injection. Having problems with the transmission. During the summer months it takes a while to shift into overdrive, but in the winter months it does not change at all and if it does it will pop out of overdrive if you slow down one little bit!
Can you help?
KristyA. There could be any number of things that can cause this problem. What you should do before anything else is to have the transmission flushed, new filter and filled with new fluid. It may be dirt in the transmission causing the problem.
If this doesn't help, you will need to take it to a transmission shop. They can test the internal valve body and the electronics to see where the problem lies.
I wish I could be of more help to you.
