Ram Mystery Light

Q. I just discovered your site and hope you can help me. I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 V8, automatic transmission, fuel injection, P/S, A/C, cruise control and have 60,000 miles on it. It also has a towing package on it. The engine light comes on occasionally, when I stop and turn off the engine and restart 3 or more times in say 1 hour. The light will go off overnight. The engine runs well, the transmission works well, the engine does not overheat. Oil, and transmission fluid are not burned.

Any ideas as to the cause and what I need to do?

A. There's not too much help I can offer you here. Since there are no real symptoms to guide me. About all you can do is take it into the dealer and let them pull the diagnostic codes out of the computer.
