... and Speaking of Killing Cats

Saturday January 19, 2008
Sometimes (apparently often if you drive an Altima) your catalytic converter will forget to take its Prozac and fall apart right in front of you. An overheated cat can quickly self-destruct and damage your engine. Common causes of a disintegrating catalytic converter include blocked exhaust passages, rich engine mixture and ring blow-by.

These guys weren't content to enjoy their Cadillac CTS with intact cats. They decided to put some serious boost behind the Cadillac's powerplant. Besides the fact that their shop seems to lack a few important pieces of auto repair equipment, their judgment seems to be lacking even further. But if your goal is to blow two perfectly good catalytic converters out of your car's rear end, these guys have done a lot of the legwork for you. Either that or this is what an eaten Vette looks like when it comes out the other end. Thanks Jeff.

You can check out Jeff's fiasco in full screen here.
