Gas Prices = Whoa!

Thursday May 10, 2007
Wow. The past week has seen gas prices rocket upward. Just in time for a road trip to the beach, gas stations had to break out a box of new numbers so their roadside signage can mock us. In New York I saw the price for premium jump 30 cents per gallon at one nearby station.

gas prices are ouch. It hurts, for sure, almost as much as the news that refining corn to make ethanol might use as much fossil fuel as plain old driving with gas. The least you can do is make the most of what you have to work with. If ever there was a time to maximize your gas mileage, it's now. Put some air in your tires and slow it down a bit on the highway. This and other gas saving tips can save at least a little cash at the pump. Ouch.

i brought in my nissan sentra for belt replacement. i asked to see the old belt in the car so i could see the wear that the dealer said was on the belt. i also asked to see the new one when replaced on the car so i could see the difference. instead of showing me the two belts, after repairing the car the dealer service brought out two belts that looked almost identical, he said the new one was slightly shinier. i am very upset since i wanted to see what causes a repair person to say the belts need replacement. this car dealership can get away with not repairing the belts in this manner since they did not show me what i asked. is it a scam?
