Your car's suspension relies on a system of supports, springs, bolts, brackets and bushings. The first of all of these things to wear out are the bushings. Bushings are small rubber pieces that bridge the gap between stiff metal suspension pieces to take the rattle out of your car's ride. Unfortunately when they wear out things do start to rattle. If your suspension is feeling a little loose and sloppy, especially the steering, you might want to try replacing your suspension bushings. It can make a huge difference in many cases, and it never hurts to replace them on a high mileage vehicle.
