You may see a new friend at your local filling station in the next year. His name is Spenser (short for DISpenser) and he's coming to fill your windshield washer fluid. A Spokane, Washington based company hopes to revolutionize the way you refill your washer fluid with Spenser. Spenser is nothing more than an automated refilling station for your washer fluid. Why is this revolutionary? Because nobody else is doing it! And because it's a great idea. Here in the Northeast, we go through gallons of washer fluid washing the salt spray from our windshields during snowy season. Most people put off refilling their washer fluid because it's cold outside, and a refill means walking into the store, wrestling with a jug of washer fluid, then trying to figure out what to do with the empty container. With Spenser, you simply swipe your debit card at the machine and refill your washer fluid with the attached hose. No spilling, no walking through slush to get into the convenient store, and best of all no bottle! If everybody in snow country is using even three bottles of washer fluid a season, can you imagine how many gallon jugs are going into landfills? They may be recyclable, but when was the last time you saw a place to recycle a big bottle at the gas station? They just get thrown into the garbage with the fast food wrappers.
Believe me when I tell you that I get plenty of so-called revolutionary inventions sent to me in the hopes of a write up. If you're a regular reader you know how many of these make it onto the site -- almost none. But I really think that Spenser could be something that not only makes our lives better, but also the lives of our children and grandchildren. That's revolutionary.

Sounds like a great idea.
Great idea as long as it is optional. How long until some politicians try to ban the sale of washer fluid and make this a gas station only process.
I really don’t find it that difficult to get the bottle from my garage, lift the cap on the reservoir and fill it up.
we have had a similar one like this in ottawa for a #of years
i don’t paticularily think it’s that great…you still have to get .out of the car and open the hood etc….they do take empty containers back ,however.i’ve found a #of uses for them..oh buy the way it’s also more expensive
I noticed on my latest bottle of windshield washer concentrate, that they gave a maximum concentration you could use, so as not to transgress the Volatile Organic Compounds levels.
Really you lazy bunch of tree huggers.GROW UP.
