51 House Members Support Right to Repair

Saturday January 9, 2010

Momentum is building for HR 2057, the House's version of the Right to Repair Act. Right to Repair legislation has been gaining speed and building support quickly over the past few years, and this just may be the year that it makes it all the way. The Right to Repair Act would give independent repair shops better access to important information they need to repair new model vehicles. You can read about Right to Repair legislation here, and there's a great update I found in the Fairfax Times here.

Why is it so hard to find the correct kind of Power Steering fluid to use in my 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer ES for topping it off. I can’t believe it is like a hidden treasure. All the blog sites have different opinions and the dealer just says to use Mitsubishi power steering fluid.

To me the whole situation comes down to greed
on the part of the manufacturers, trickling down to the dealers ,who want to keep the almighty codes a TOP
SECRET!I Paid for the vehicle,I choose who I want to make a repair! My mechanic is a most knowledgable
fellow and he should have a full access to whatever info
he needs to make a repair.FAIR IS FAIR!!!
