Jumping into car repair can be daunting. If you've ever had the chance to tour the home garage of a car nut you were no doubt floored over the collection of "stuff" he or she needs to work on the car. Sure, car people like to buy everything they can afford in the way of tools and accessories, but that doesn't mean you have to! You can get started in maintaining your own car or truck with a small tool box full of tools. It's perfectly cool to wait until you need a tool before you buy it. If you're feeling intimidated, take a look at my starter tool kit and stall no more. In the immortal words of Tony Little, "You can do it!"

When ever you start a new business you want to differentiate yourself from other businesses offering your services. For Mechanic Shops, is this possible?

In the “Green” age it is! Try “gearing” (pun intended) engine services on its green benefits. Promote that you use Recycled Car Parts (Try http://www.LKQOnline.com) and anything else that is “Green” such as recycling oil from oil changes.

People care about the environment and if no one else is doing it locally, clean up (again, pun intended)!
