Ba-a-a-a-a-d Auto Repair Shop

Saturday August 23, 2008
I get a lot of oddball news stories sent to me. Most are humorous asides or ironic tidbits that have to do with car repair, or really lame stuff like the expansion of Joe's Mufflers to three locations. From time to time there's something really interesting or funny in the box, but never have I read anything as bizarre or disturbing as this. Imagine opening your Inbox and seeing this headline: Sheep Found Bound Together in Worth Car Repair Shop. Sheep? Bound together? In a shop? That's one for the books. I can think of a couple of guys working for me over the years that I wanted to tie up and leave there overnight just so they'd finish their work, but I can't think of any reason you'd need to tie up a farm animal, much less a pair. Maybe you have some insight that escapes me. Check out the Chicago Tribune story and let me know if you come up with any theories.

(1) Don says:

This is a very cruel way to “hobble” the animals so they can’t roam - they tie the hind legs together - one animal can’t move forward unless they physically pull the other animal along in reverse - in some areas they use this method as a temporary means of controlling the animals and limiting their movement.

(2) Dwayne says:

That is tragic and disturbing.

My shop is guaranteed to never have sheep tied up inside of it.

Perhaps this is a symptom of a shop owner with too much spare time?
